Jessie J tops BBC's Sound of 2011 poll

After winning the Critics' Choice Brit Award, singer/songwriter Jessie J has now topped the BBC's Sound of 2011 poll. 

The list, which the BBC describes as being compiled from "160 key music critics, broadcasters and bloggers", has previously seen names like Ellie Goulding, 50 Cent and Keane in the number 1 position so it's a significant achievement for the 22 year old vocalist and writer from Essex. 

She said of the honour:

"It feels amazing to be accepted on such a broad scale."

"I know I'm doing something right and I've got to keep doing it."

Jessie J posted on Twitter yesterday (January 6) that she has been "pencilled in" for Glastonbury and The Big Chill festivals in 2011. 

Her debut single, 'Do It Like A Dude', is currently at number 3 on the iTunes chart and you can watch the video for it below:
