Jessie J on new style: "I'm embracing myself as a woman"

Jessie J has opened up on the thought process behind her recent style change.

The vocal star has ditched her trademark black bob and has gone for a more sweeping, feminine look.

The style is showcased in a cover feature for the November issue of Elle and she told the magazine that her original style was designed to grab people's attention.

Jessie J revealed that she is leaving behind her old "cartoony" image and instead indulging in her femininity. The 'Domino' star said:

"That really scary, spiky, cartoony kind of thing, that was me two or three years ago. Now I'm definitely more embracing of myself as a woman and my sexuality and just being a bit more feminine. I've always wanted to look like this, but it didn't grab people's attention. And in the beginning you've always got to do something that's going to make people go, 'Who's that?'."

Jessie J added: "I definitely am more feminine and I've softened my look a lot. I'm just having fun with my style and, like, exploring stuff as I've got more confident as a young woman."
