Jessie J on charity head shave: "I will always try my best to do good"

Jessie J has reflected upon the reasons why she shaved her head for charity, reiterating her desire to help "those that need it".

As previously reported, the vocal star shed all of her hair live on TV for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day on Friday (March 15).

The move helped raise buckets of cash for the charity as they celebrated generating a massive £75 million on the night as a whole.

Jessie J took to Instagram early this morning (March 18) to post a photo of herself and a woman called Amy, who she met a year ago at a charity who deals with people suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

Amy is seen kissing the 'Domino' star's head and in the accompanying text, Jessie J revealed that helping those in need is something that strives to do. The singer said:

"This is Amy kissing my head. A year ago, I met Amy in G.O.S.H with *Make a wish* (A charity for young people with life threatening disease/illness to give them their final wishes) I said i want to do something that could help raise money for charity to help young people like yourself" she said "Why don't you shave your head? Not many people would expect to see you do that" I said "yeah ok"."

Jessie J continued: "This photograph was taken a year later on the 15th March 2013 after I shaved my head live on BBC 1 for @rednoseday helping raise a record breaking 75million pounds to go towards supporting people in need just like Amy. This picture will forever remind me why in life I must always recognise how I can help those who need it. Give time, understanding and most importantly dedication and love. I will always try my best to do good in my own little way. Thank you Amy, you are my hero."
