Jessie J has revealed that one of her new track's lyrics revolves around an illness in her family.

The singer is currently gearing up for the release of her second studio album but little information has been released about the record's songs.

However, the 'Wild' star told the Daily Record that she has penned a track about a member of her family who has been losing their personality due to an illness. She said:

"It's very emotional, it's very personal. It's about a family member of mine who isn't themselves any more. They're still alive but they're not themselves, in the sense that illness has taken them away a little bit, without giving too much away. And I needed to write a song about it."

The former Voice UK coach meanwhile admitted that she won't be performing the track live, revealing:

"I hope my fans respect that. I gave my all in the vocals so that they have that - it sounds like a live performance. It's just piano and strings and me - that's it."

It is unclear whether the song will feature on Jessie J's new album, which is due to be released later this year.
