Jessie J reflects on career and artistry in lengthy Twitter soliloquy

Jessie J has reflected on her career in a series of Twitter posts.

The singer took to the social networking website early this morning (January 3) to look back on how she can use her life experiences to take herself forward.

She said: "I've been so reflective this new year on what I have achieved what I haven't yet and what it's like to be a female artist. Really been thinking about it. From the political struggles, the media drama and lies and whispers to the beautiful opportunities the fact I get to sing so much, the incredible fans I meet and have as a foundation support around the world!

"I really want to use the past 3 years of experience to find a better balance in my life this year to making myself the best I can be for me. For what I do. From music, to fashion, to making moments count. Time to make it work. Really work. I want to love and work hard for what I chose to be in my life and the things that make me the artist I am. And I am trying to understand and accept and respect the parts I don't chose and can't control. The business side that the fans often don't even get to see.

"The fame will never be why I love this life. That's what I really have discovered by living it not watching it. Nor money. Never will that be my drive. I will always do this to make a change. Leave the world a little brighter than I found it."

The 'Alive' star later thanked God and her fans, family and friends for their support.
