Jessie J sued for copyright infringement over 'Domino'

British pop sensation Jessie J is facing a copyright infringement case suit over claims that parts of her hit single 'Domino' were lifted from an American male singer's own work.

The lawsuit, which was filed in California by musician Will Loomis, names Jessica Cornish, Universal Music Group, Lava Records, and Universal Republic Records as defendants in a case that suggests large portions of his 2008 song 'Bright Red Chords' were taken for 'Domino'.

Chris Arledge, the man's lawyer, said in an official statement: "Mr. Loomis never consented to the use of his song and we look forward to obtaining an appropriate remedy from the court for this clear infringement."

Loomis has since uploaded a video to YouTube of his track played side-by-side with 'Domino' so that the striking similarities can be heard publicly.

Jessie J has revealed that she would love to have Rihanna and Beyoncé on her next album.

The 'Laserlight' star is currently plotting the follow-up to her debut smash 'Who You Are' and she told the Daily Star about her collaboration plans.

Jessie J isn't just hoping for Rihanna and Beyoncé however - she also has Brits Ed Sheeran and Tinie Tempah in mind too. She said:

"It took me seven years to get people interested in the first album, so the pressure weighs heavy on my shoulders with the anticipation of the second. I want to get Ed Sheeran and Tinie Tempah on there, but I'd also love to work with Rihanna and Beyoncé. It has to happen organically, depending on who's around."

As previously reported, Jessie J was recently quoted as saying that she got locked inside a toilet at a recent Jay-Z and Kanye West gig - ultimately being set free by Jay-Z's crew.

The singer is quoted by The Sun as saying she attended the gig with will.i.am and a friend - only to find herself locked in the toilet as the gig started.

However, Jay-Z's entourage came to her rescue, knocking down the door and setting Jessie and her friend free. She said:

"I went with Will.i.am to the first (Jay-Z and Kanye West) Watch The Throne show in London. I somehow managed to find myself walking into the stage with them all - Will, Kanye, Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian. I was like 'Wow, what a crew', then me and my friend got stuck in the toilet."

She continued: "We nipped in to do our make-up and my friend knew the door was broken but locked it anyway and said, 'Babe I think I've broken the door'. They’d been on for one song, we could hear them and it got to about 15 minutes and Jay’s security came in and they literally kicked down the whole door."

Jessie J has admitted that she still finds it hard to believe that people pay her to sing.

The 24-year-old, who yesterday performed her number one hit, ‘Price Tag,’ with Rizzle Kicks at the Capital Summertime Ball, told Grazia magazine that she considers herself very lucky to be a performer for a living:

“I get to go out on stage and see thousands of people singing the words to my songs and that is for me 'the dream experience.'

“Well, that and playing at being a lion with my nephews. You've got to keep it real.”

The Voice coach, who yesterday revealed she would be up for a collaboration with Katy Perry, also went on to confess that she doesn’t see anything wrong with occasionally acting like a diva:

“Sometimes you have to be a diva. All the artists I admire, from Madonna to Whitney to Mariah, have been called divas.

“If you are strong, if you have vision, if you are an artist, you have to do what you believe in. And if you get called a diva for it, so what?”

Jessie J has spoken of her admiration for Ed Sheeran in an interview about her favourite music, films and TV shows.

The 24-year-old, who has previously declared plans to work with the ‘Lego House’ singer, told The Independent that she expects him to have a long and successful career:

“Ed Sheeran's album + is beautiful just because it's purely about his voice and his great songs. It's really honest and any guy that can hold a stage by himself with a guitar and nothing else is someone that is going to be around for a long time."

The ‘Price Tag’ star, who like Sheeran, will be performing at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert on Monday night, went onto reveal what she’s currently watching on the box and on the big-screen:

“I have a hard drive that my friend made for me with all my favourite television programmes on that I take around with me. That was a great gift! The shows I enjoy watching the most are Crime Scene Investigation, Come Dine with Me, The Voice and Summer Heights High.

“I recently saw the American Reunion sequel which was funny. I also managed to catch The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, with Daniel Craig. It was a very intense film, with lots of twists. That's what I like about films on the whole. I like them to keep you on the very edge of your seat.”

Jessie J on The Voice diva rumours: 'I asked for a candle and a lava lamp'

Songstress Jessie J has hit back at the rumours suggesting she has been showcasing diva-like behaviour on The Voice UK by revealing her backstage requests.

In a new interview with Grazia magazine, the 'Price Tag' star explained that she only asked for two items and both were incredibly low key so it's unfair for the press to make up exaggerated stories:

"There isn’t anything flash in my dressing room. No champagne. No yoga mats or anything. That was meant to be one of my diva demands. I did ask for a scented candle. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a nice, relaxing smell in the room. I also asked for a lava lamp."

“When I was a kid, they used to have a room at Great Ormond Street Hospital where you’d go and chill out. It was full of lava lamps and water lamps and since then it’s always been a way to help me wind down. I never got one, and that’s OK."

Despite opening up about the things she asked for as a vocal coach on the popular talent show, Jessie J also questioned the limits of what's acceptable and what should be considered as too much where requests are concerned, and added:

“But is there anything wrong with asking for what you know is good for you? Does that make you a diva, a pain? Or does it make you someone who knows what they want?”
