JLS asks fans to name their new album

JLS have sent a request out to their fans asking them to help name their forthcoming album.

Band member, Marvin Humes, posted a new blog on the band’s website yesterday (July 20), saying: "So the boys and I want you guys to help up with the title to our new album. You know we always want your help and input, so what do you think we should call it?!”

The boys’ latest single, ‘She Makes Me Wanna’ will be featured on the new album, but the release date has not yet been confirmed. ‘She Makes Me Wanna’ is available to pre-order on iTunes and will be released on July 24.

Talking about the songs they've written together so far, Humes said: "We've matured with content and songwriting.

“We've tackled things on this new album that we wouldn't have been able to discuss on the first. We've gone through different stuff in our personal lives over the past year.”

JLS record a duet with Humes' girlfriend Rochelle Wiseman

JLS have recorded a duet with The Saturdays' very own Rochelle Wiseman.

The group have close links to her outside of the music industry as she is the long-term girlfriend of band member Marvin Humes and he explained to Star magazine that when they wrote a part for a female she came into the studio and "laid down the vocals":

"She (Wiseman) does help out. We've got an idea for a duet with a female star but we can't say who yet. When we had written the girl part, Rochelle came in and helped out and laid down the vocals for it."

Despite the collaboration, JLS think the final cut will feature another singer as they already have someone else in mind:

"She did really well but we know who we want and it does look like it's going to happen with the other person."

JLS defend their use of autotune

JLS, who shocked fans yesterday by pulling out of T4 on the Beach, have defended their use of autotune.

The group explained to BANG Showbiz that they're simply part of a digital generation and instead of attacking artists who employ the use of technological effects such as vocoders or autotune, people should embrace the change:

"Music has moved forward in such an amazing way, and we are in a new school generation and that generation, stuff like music effects, auto tune and sampling is part of that."

"If you get critics come and see the show, we can sing it live, so what's the problem, so it's kind of pointless for them to criticise."

JLS pull out of T4 On The Beach

Boy band JLS have cancelled their performance today as a part of T4 On The Beach after the band, who was added to the bill last month, was unable to soundcheck.

Fans at the gig were pictured in tears as the announcement was made that JLS would not perform. A statement has since appeared on their facebook website stating that the cancellation was due to “production problems”.

It read: “JLS flew in for T4OTB and arrived on site at Weston super-Mare at 7.30am for a soundcheck and camera rehearsal.

"The soundcheck was continually pushed back. JLS were finally able to soundcheck at 930am but by this point the gates were open and the crowd were let in which meant JLS could not soundcheck.

"As a result of not being allowed to soundcheck and rehearse JLS cannot perform their set which had been especially created for T4. JLS are gutted they are unable to perform on stage today and are sorry to fans who have travelled to see them but this situation was out of their control."

The band later took to their Twitter account to apologise to fans: "We are SO sorry that we are not performing," Marvin Humes wrote. "It's something that was beyond our control. As a 4 piece live singing band there is no way we can do such a huge show without a soundcheck or camera rehearsal. We are extremely disappointed to let you all down."
