JLS star pursues songwriting sideline

JLS star Oritse Williams has revealed he wants to write songs for as many different people as possible.

The 25-year-old, whose band’s official Sport Relief single, ‘Proud,’ was released earlier today, told The Daily Record that he has already penned several tracks with certain artists in mind:

“I keep writing and writing. I pitched a song for Usher the other day and haven’t heard anything back yet.

“I’d love to write with Ne-Yo, or Bruno Mars, and also Gary Barlow. One day, if there is an opportunity, I’ll take it up."

Oritse, who has also been busy mentoring new girlband and current JLS support act Vida, has already seen one of his songs recorded by a certain Irish twin duo.

He said: “I wrote a song for Jedward – their last single ‘Wow Oh Wow.’

“It wasn’t widely known. I didn’t initially write the song for them but when they were looking for songs I thought it would be perfect. Louis Walsh called me up and said: ‘I heard you wrote this song. Can I use it for Jedward?’ and I said: ‘Why not? Go for it’.”
