The 25-year-old, who has previously sent the Starships singer five packets of condoms with his face on, told the Dead Cloud blog at Wireless Festival that he hasn’t yet given up on the chase:

“We’re not performing today, it’s a day off. And I’ve just come to see Nicki Minaj. She’s sexy.

"I tried to hit her up on Twitter. I was trying to say, ‘I’m coming down Nicki and the swag is gonna be extra tight, you know what I’m saying?’

“She said, ‘well Oritse, I’m gonna see you backstage honey.’”

The boyband star, who recently opened up about his new toned physique, then went on to reveal his smooth chat-up line before claiming Minaj agreed to a date:

“I said ‘What’s going on Nicki? I’m gonna see you later on and if you’ve got something to do I’d cancel your plans ‘cos I’m making new ones.’”
