JLS star Aston Merrygold has admitted that he isn't the best with emotional fans.

The boyband have legions of fans - mainly female - and they are susceptible to outpourings of joy when they see or meet their idols.

Speaking to The Sun, Merrygold said that he struggles to know what to do when a fan is crying in front of him. The singer said:

"There has been a little bit of love from the girls from time to time, but it isn't a bad thing."

He continued: "That's all part of the fun. People do seem to get teary when they meet me. I'm not good when it comes to crying - it's a hard thing to watch."

Speaking about his judging role on reality show Got To Dance alongside colleagues Ashley Banjo and Kimberly Wyatt, Merrygold said:

"It was difficult and there were disagreements. We are all going to have our favourites and think we are right. It was tough. It took all day to decide. Luckily, we were happy with the talent we put through at the end."
