Aston Merrygold considering permanent US move

JLS star Aston Merrygold is considering a permanent move to Los Angeles.

The singer and bandmates  Marvin Humes, Oritsé Williams and JB Gill announced they will be going their separate ways at the end of this year.

Merrygold is considering other options away from the band, and says a move to America to pursue an acting career could be on the cards.

He told British newspaper The Daily Star: “If that’s where the work is then that’s where I’ll go. I’m not ruling out a move over there. It’s a fun place.

He added: “I don’t want to put pressure on myself. I just want to get out there and see what happens.”

Merrygold is anxious about the prospect though.

He continued: “I haven’t done proper acting roles since I was 17 so it is nerve-racking. We did bits in the music videos but this is different.”

Despite his relationship with dancer Sarah Richards going strong, Merrygold insisted he won't be following in bandmate and new dad Humes' footsteps anytime soon.

He explained: “Fatherhood is a long way off for me. I’m happy just being an uncle for now. And I’m well up for babysitting.”
