Jedward are busy men. Not only did they recently completed a marathon without any training, they also attended a film premiere in the US - oh, and they're in the running for this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Pressparty caught up with them recently to find out what makes them tick and just how on earth they have so much energy - read the full interview below.

You recently ran a marathon in LA without any training at all. Are you crazy?

Edward: Me and John are very good at running but we haven't done it since we were 17 so we had not done any training. But we've got so much stamina and energy from being on stage.

John: We arrived in Los Angeles the night before the run and thought we may as well do it because we were there for the American Reunion premiere anyway. So we had some Raisin Bran and a Gatorade and some water and then went to sleep. We got the hotel to wake us up at 5.30 and started the race at 7.20.

Edward: John did it in 3 hours 38 minutes and I did it in 3 hours and 50 something. The thing we were most worried about was getting a dodgy tan, so we wore jackets to protect our arms.

You must have been exhausted the next day?

John: The next day we had to walk the red carpet at the American Pie premiere so we were really busy and we just kept going.

Edward: We did go for a massage and they messaged our legs loads so we were soon back to normal. Unusually people who run marathons go 'God, we're amazing' but we kind of got over it.

How was the American Reunion premiere?

Edward: It was amazing. It was a real eye opener to be walking the red carpet in America. The red carpet is proper, like, red. Tara [Reid] looked amazing as well. She wore, like, Versace or something. We didn't want to go too crazy with what we wore because people don’t really know us over there, but we looked cool.

John: And everyone wanted to talk to us. They were like 'Who are those guys?' All the producers and stuff were talking to us. It was really, really cool.

Was it good seeing Tara Reid again after your stint together on Celebrity Big Brother?

Edward: Oh yes. We'd seen her a month before when we'd been out to LA just to say hello. We're really close.

John: Tara and Edward and I are a really positive influence on each other. We really kind of get each other.

Have you got any plans to launch an assault on Hollywood? Could a Jedward movie be in the pipeline?

Edward: Me and John would love to do anything. I think me and John can do anything. We may be new to America, but there’s no stopping us.

John: We're not 'over' the UK or anything though, and we're not going to suddenly become big Hollywood stars. We go to all these different countries and people are like 'Ooooh, Jedward', so why not America?

Have you been approached about film roles?

Edward: We may have been, but it's all kind of confidential.

John: We can't say anything about it. Nothing. But we would love to do something where people are like 'Oh my God, I can't believe Jedward are in that TV show or that movie'.

You literally never stop working. How the hell are you so energetic all the time?

John: We just say 'Let's do this' and we're determined, and that keeps us going and energetic. We're always juggling loads of things.

Edward: If we're at home and we're not doing anything, that's when we get tired. You can tell because our hair is flat. That makes us less energetic.

So basically if you’re hair is flat you're tired?

Edward: Yes, it makes a big difference. You always know if we're tired because our hair isn't spikey.

You'll need to build your strength up for Eurovision again this year…

Edward: Yes, we're going to Azerbaijan and we're doing a bigger performance than last year. We've got fans all around the world now who will be rooting for us, and hopefully we'll get support from the UK and get 12 points. Last year we weren't that known in Europe but now we're much better known.

John: Our song last year, Lipstick, was a fun pop song, but our track for this year, Waterline, is much more meaningful. It's a love song and it's metaphorical.

Have you heard any of your rival's songs?

John: We've heard the Russian grannies and they're really, really good. We've heard Sweden's entry Euphoria which is really, really good, because it's all about happiness and the girl looks like Pocahontas.

Edward: There are also two crazy guys from Austria who have loads of energy and sing a song about shaking your bum or something. And there's a French girl who sings in French, and it's really good that she's doing that because you can learn the language.

What do you think about Engelbert Humperdinck representing the UK at Eurovision?

Edward: He's awesome. He's really, really cool because he wears eyeliner and he's got dark hair. Now he's going to get some highlights and stuff to make himself look younger.

Do you get still get nervous about performing?

John: Yes, because you're on stage with loads of people staring at you. It's good to get nervous though, because it keeps you focused.

Edward: Like when John and I did the LA marathon, we really needed to go to the toilet for the first few miles but we didn't because it helped us stay focused.

You posted a saucy video of yourselves almost naked on YouTube earlier this year. Why?

Edward: The general public think we've always got spiky hair but our fans see us with flat hair sometimes. We thought it was kind of cool to do the video because it was a different vibe and everyone kind of went 'Yeah, Jedward are hot'.

So the ladies love Jedward?

John: I think so. And it's overwhelming when you have so much attention you're spoilt for choice.

Have you got girlfriends at the moment or are you too busy?

Edward: No, I think if we see a girl we like we don't care about being busy.

John: But we don't want to start something that could be good, and then it doesn't work out and the girl is like 'Oh my God, you don’t spend enough time with me'. And then you think you've blown your chance. But if a girl comes along, she comes along.

X Factor auditions are coming around again. What advice would you give you anyone who's trying out for it?

Edward: Don't let everything get to you and worry about what people are thinking about you or what they're doing. You can get messed up worrying about it. We don't worry any more. Our fans make us feel better if we see something bad. It someone writes something mean about us it's probably just animal instinct because they want to eat us or something.

John: You have to remember that your family and friends like you and eventually everyone else will too. Also remember that nobody likes working with people who are difficult. No one wants to be working with someone who isn't nice when they could be working with Jedward.
