The Irish duo ran the Los Angeles marathon on March 18 and later admitted that they hadn't prepared for the long run.

Speaking to Pressparty, Jedward said that they have accumulated so much stamina from their live shows that they felt up to the task of completing the marathon. Edward said:

"Me and John are very good at running but we haven't done it since we were 17 so we hadn't done any training. But we've got so much stamina and energy from being on stage."

John added: "We arrived in Los Angeles the night before the run and thought we may as well do it because we were there for the American Reunion premiere anyway. So we had some Raisin Bran and a Gatorade and some water and then went to sleep. We got the hotel to wake us up at 5.30 and started the race at 7.20."

Edward revealed that John was the fastest out of the two, beating him by roughly 12 minutes. He added: "John did it in 3 hours 38 minutes and I did it in 3 hours and 50 something. The thing we were most worried about was getting a dodgy tan, so we wore jackets to protect our arms."

The duo are set to represent Ireland again this year and they told Pressparty that they're hoping to have the backing of fans across the world this time around.

Speaking about this year's Eurovision, Edward said: "Yes, we're going to Azerbaijan and we're doing a bigger performance than last year. We've got fans all around the world now who will be rooting for us, and hopefully we'll get support from the UK and get 12 points. Last year we weren't that known in Europe but now we're much better known."

John added: "Our song last year, Lipstick, was a fun pop song, but our track for this year, Waterline, is much more meaningful. It's a love song and it's metaphorical."

The pair revealed that they've heard some of their Eurovision competitors, with the "Russian grannies" a favourite. John said: "We've heard the Russian grannies and they're really, really good. We've heard Sweden's entry Euphoria which is really, really good, because it’s all about happiness and the girl looks like Pocahontas."

Edward added: "There are also two crazy guys from Austria who have loads of energy and sing a song about shaking your bum or something. And there's a French girl who sings in French, and it's really good that she's doing that because you can learn the language."

Edward meanwhile concluded that Engelbert Humperdinck - the UK representative - is "really, really cool because he wears eyeliner and has dark hair."

Speaking exclusively to Pressparty, Jedward said that the sky is limit with regards to breaking in other countries.

The Irish duo were recently over in the US at the premiere of American Reunion, which stars their former Celebrity Big Brother colleague, Tara Reid.

When asked if Jedward had any plans to break into Hollywood themselves, Edward replied: "Me and John would love to do anything. I think we can do anything. We may be new to America, but there's no stopping us."

John added: "We've not 'over' the UK or anything though, and we're not going to suddenly become big Hollywood stars. We go to all these different countries and people are like 'Oooh, Jedward', so why not America?"

The duo are keeping quiet however over any possible film roles, adding that it is "all confidential". When asked if they have been approached for film roles, Edward replied: "We may have been, but it's all kind of confidential."

John said: "We can't say anything about it. Nothing. But we would love to do something where people are like 'Oh my god, I can't believe Jedward are in that TV show or that movie'."

John and Edward, who competed in the race dressed in matching stars and stripes kits, revealed that they hadn’t prepared for the event, and had virtually no sleep or food on the day itself.

However, the 20-year-old Irish twins, who last month were selected as Ireland’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest for the second year running, still somehow managed to finish the course, which went through Hollywood and Beverley Hills before finishing on the West Coast’s Ocean Avenue.

The X-Factor stars later posted several tweets about their achievement in their usual excitable style including: “The swim shorts that we had have now given us baby rash! And we are not babies but now we know what it feels like,” and "We where singing our news songs all the way! finishing the lyrics together and mixing it up (sic).”

The effervescent duo were announced recently as Ireland's representatives for a second year in a row.

They'll perform their new track 'Waterline' as they attempt to navigate their way through the semi-finals in search of a spot at the grand final - but bookmaker William Hill have already placed them as joint second favourites to win the whole competition.

William Hill give the pair odds of 8/1 - not far off from overall favourites Denmark, who are priced at 7/1. The UK meanwhile remain a long shot with odds of 25/1.

The bookmaker's spokesman Joe Crilly said: "Jedward came close last year, eventually finishing a respectable eighth and with another year under their belts, could well do even better in Azerbaijan."

The 20-year-old twins, who recently announced they are to host a new Channel 5 clip show, beat four other acts to top the vote on last night’s The Late Late Show Eurosong Special.

The X-Factor duo impressed both the regional jury and the public with their track, 'Waterline,' and will now travel to the Azerbaijan capital of Baku for the first semi-final on May 22.  

In typically excitable style, the pair said of their win: "It's crazy, oh my God we're so excited. We're going back and we have so many fans all across Europe. It's going to be like, we are back, the return of Jedward."

The pair achieved Ireland’s highest position in over a decade when their track, ‘Lipstick,’ finished eighth at last year’s competition in Düsseldorf. 

The energetic duo will front the series Jedward's Weird Wild World, which is set to showcase some of the funniest clips from the internet and home video cameras from around the globe.

The Daily Star reports that the pair said in a statement that the public should brace themselves for a truly "Jepic" experience. They said: 

"We're so excited to be hosting this new series for 5. We love going online and watching funny clips and our new series will bring together the most amazing internet clips we could find. Buckle up, it’s going to be a Jepic ride!

5's Ian Dunkley meanwhile said: 

"We're delighted to be able to give Jedward the opportunity to host their own show. They're a perfect fit for 5...young, fun and they've got great hair."

The Irish duo could perform again at the Eurovision Song Contest, but it is unclear whether or not the new track will be chosen for their song.

The pair performed at last year's Eurovision, with their track 'Lipstick' ending up in eighth place.

Jedward spoke late last year about their desire to perform at the 2012 ceremony, stating that they had an "amazing song" and an "amazing dance team" planned.

The video sees the Irishmen dance with very little clothing to LMFAO's 'Sexy And I Know It' - renamed to 'Jexy And I Know It' for the celebratory video.

The even strip down to just two pieces of cardboard - one with a smiley face and one with the word 'Jexy' - covering up their manhood.

They also rip off their t-shirts and perform a number of sultry dance moves.

The 'Lipstick' duo are nominated alongside Angelos Epithemiou, David Hasselhoff, Ian Beale and Lee Nelson and the votes are open to the public on loaded.co.uk.

The likes of Ricky Gervais, Vic and Bob, Tim Minchin and Dom Joly are also nominated for awards but Jimmy Carr leads the nominations with his name cropping up for five awards, including Funniest Male and Funniest Twitterer.

The awards will take place sometime in February.

The X Factor duo were also invited to meet the pop legend backstage. 

"We are gonna get to meet Britney spears (sic)," they wrote on Twitter. "it gonna be the Biggest Moment of our Life! And the biggest Moment for Jedward Fans.

"We are gonna get to Perform with Britney Spears Tonight! It's gonna be a JEPIC moment and we are gonna relive it and remember it for life!"

The Irish stars sent a good luck message to Spears saying: "you are totally awesome you are gonna Rock Tonight!" and encouraged fans to tweet their excitement for the upcoming "performance of the year". 

"Everyone needs to know this is a very very exciting moment!," they added. "Every interview we have ever done has always had us talking about."

 

Jedward returned to Twitter ater their on stage appearance and prepared for a more intimate meeting with the superstar. 

"we are backstage! This the most coolest thing eveeeeeeer!" they wrote. "It's craZy we are gonna be breathing the same air! It's Britney Air! #JEDWARDLoveBRITNEY #JEDWARDmeetingBRITNEY"

Jedward are set to represent Ireland in next year's Eurovision Song Contest.

The twins had to be interrogated by the Secret Service so as to determine their mental stability – a test which John and Edward passed. Then, after the questioning, the pair were searched for weapons in their clothes, shoes and even their famous six-inch quiffs.

John told the Daily Star: “We had to have big security checks before we were allowed to meet him.

“They scanned our bodies and searched us to make sure we didn’t have anything we shouldn’t have. They even searched our hair to make sure we weren’t hiding any weapons in there.

“They kept poking our quiffs and messing up our hair,” he explained. “We then had to have a personality assessment to make sure we weren’t crazy and would attack Obama.

“But in the end the President and his wife Michelle loved us. Michelle even invited us to visit the White House and see their daughter.”

Twins John and Edward Grimes are second favourites to win the competition tonight with their track 'Lipstick', only coming in behind France’s entry, tenor vocalist Amaury Vassili. Irish fans have even been seen in Dusseldorf this week sporting cardboard versions of the pair’s famous quiffs.

Megastars ABBA famously won the contest in 1974 with their song ‘Waterloo’. The Swedish foursome went on to become one of the most successful acts of all time.

Speaking to The Sun, John Grimes boasted: "We want to be bigger than Abba."

Edward added: "When Abba were on the contest it was all about the outfits, and we want to do the same. We can't wait to be really successful all around the world."

Irish pop duo Jedward have received an official apology from BAA after launching a formal complaint after a series of incidents involving security staff at Heathrow airport.

The pair, who fly out of Heathrow at least three times a week, complained about “rude and unprofessional” staff.

Jedward, who finished in sixth place on last year's 'X Factor', have gone from strength to strength since appearing on the talent contest, and recently announced that they are to buy each other Ferraris.

“The Ferraris are on order!” revealed Edward. “John is having a yellow one and I am having a red one. Now we need driving licences!”

The cars, which will cost the pair around £250,000 each, will be capable of speeds of up to 202mph and come with a massive 4.5 litre v8 engine.
