The 'Baby' star turned up to help out a family in need and told them that he would donate one dollar from every ticket sold at that night's concert to their cause that works to raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving, which caused the death of one of their daughters. He signed the don't text and drive pledge and also tweeted Katrina, the young girl from the family, a message before the show aired yesterday (January 30) that said:

"i will see u and your amazing family on Extreme Home Makeover in 1 hour. really glad I met you guys"

"Im really happy for u and ur family. see u at the premiere. keep up the incredible work!!"

Grammy nominated songwriter, Ester Dean, who wrote Katy Perry's 'Firework' and Rihanna's 'What's My Name' is working with Bieber, and revealed to PopEater:

"I first met Justin with Usher at an 'American Idol' event. He was like, 'Oh my God … I'm such a fan of your songwriting!' And I'm like, 'You're a fan? I'm a fan of your music!' He's a very talented guy. He was very easy to work with and was very nice. We just finished up some music for the new movie he has coming out. I can't get too much into it. I don't want to give too much away."

The teenager has made a public service announcement to urge people to step forward and give a home to an animal rather than buy another pet from a breeder.

Bieber released a video online, in which he says: “It’s really important that people adopt. I really encourage going out to an animal shelter or a place where you can get a dog that has been abandoned or doesn’t have a home.

“A lot of animals are getting abused in different homes...and I think it’s really important we just stay aware about these different situations.”

The star – born and bred in London – said he adopted a dog from an animal shelter called Sam.

He said: “I have a dog, his name is Sam. He’s actually a papillon. We moved to a city where we didn’t really know anybody, so I wanted a friend and Sam was kind of like that friend. My dad and I used to just go visit the different animals and stuff.”

The 16-year-old also posed for two print advertisements to build more awareness for the campaign. The adverts include tag lines such as “My World Includes Passion for Animals, Yours Should Too,” and “Animals can Make U Smile, Adopt from Your Local Shelter.”

This campaign is just one of the PETA campaigns that Bieber has supported.

Justin will host this year's event by reading his favorite childhood book, Dr. Seuss's classic, The Cat in the Hat. Last year, approximately 215,000 people joined the webcast, setting a new record for the event. Pizza Hut is challenging classrooms and families across America to join the 2011 event and if total attendance surpasses last year's attendance record, then BOOK IT! will donate $25,000 to the Pencils of Promise charity. The movie will be released across America on February 11 and is a "rags to riches story" about the life of Bieber from when he was a child playing drums to becoming a YouTube phenomenon, and it takes the young star right up to the present day.

"Glee is NOT doing a Justin Bieber tribute episode. We are not doing any more of those this season. Those are reserved for artists with a big catalogue, ala Madonna and Britney, etc."

But Murphy did reveal that fans of the 'One Time' singer can look forward to a forthcoming episode as the cast, Sam and Quinn specifically, will be tackling one of his songs:

Talking to Heat, Bieber said: "Well, first of all it would be illegal cos she's, like, too old ... My mum's 35, so she's closer to my mum's age than she is to mine."
