Justin Bieber tops the UK singles chart for a fourth week

Canadian sensation Justin Bieber has returned to No.1 in the UK for a fourth week today with 'What Do You Mean'.

The track, which first hit the top spot in September, has now counted three different stints at No.1, making it only the fourth song in history to do so. Frankie Laine’s 'I Believe' (1953), Guy Mitchell’s 'Singing The Blues' (1957) and, most recently, Pharrell Williams’s 'Happy' (2014) are the only other three tracks to achieve the feat.

'What Do You Mean' also marks the most streamed track of the week, counting 2.91 million listens over the last seven days. R. City’s 'Locked Away' feat. Adam Levine scores a new Official Chart peak at No.2 today, followed by Sam Smith’s new Bond theme song, 'Writing’s On The Wall' (3).

Philip George & Anton Powers nab this week’s highest climber and most downloaded track with 'Alone No More', which ascends a massive 120 places to No.4, trailed by Ellie Goulding’s 'On My Mind' (5).

The Vamps score their sixth Top 20 single – and the most physically purchased track of the week – with 'Wake Up' (12), while Natalie La Rose notches up a second with 'Around The World' feat. Fetty Wap (14).

MNEK & Zara Larsson’s 'Never Forget You' makes its Official Chart Top 40 debut (32), followed by James Bay’s 'Let It Go', which spends its 13th week in the Top 40 (38) and then Kygo’s 'Firestone' feat. Conrad Sewell (39), which climbs 20 places to re-enter the Top 40 today.

Finally, Ed Sheeran’s first signing to his Gingerbread Man Records label, Jamie Lawson, scores his debut Top 40 with 'Wasn’t Expecting You' (40).
