Justin Bieber is No.1 for 5th week in UK with 'What Do You Mean'

It has been a close battle all week, but Justin Bieber has fought off the competition to claim a fifth week at No.1 on the Official Singles Chart with 'What Do You Mean'.

The track is now the second-longest No.1 of 2015, behind Mark Ronson’s 'Uptown Funk', which spent six weeks in pole position this year (seven since its release last year).

Holding tight at No.2 this week is R.City and Adam Levine’s 'Locked Away', and Drake scores his highest-charting single as a lead artist with 'Hotline Bling', which leaps from 8 to No.3. His previous best was No.4 with 2013’s 'Hold On We’re Going Home'.

Rounding off this week’s Top 5 is Naughty Boy, Beyoncé and Arrow Benjamin’s 'Runnin’' (No.4), and The Weeknd reaches a new peak with 'The Hills', vaulting 23 places to No.5.

Singer-songwriter Jamie Lawson zooms from 40 to 6 with 'Wasn’t Expecting That'. The track was originally unveiled in 2011 but has been re-released since he signed to Ed Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records label.

Outside the Top 10, Olly Murs earns his 12th Top 20 hit with 'Kiss Me', which lands at No.14, and The 1975’s new single 'Love Me' debuts at No.20. Finally, Fetty Wap and Monty jump nine spots to No.24 with '679', and Selena Gomez’s 'Good For You' re-enters the Top 40 at No.38.
