Justin Bieber's stylist hits back at criticism about his look

Justin Bieber’s stylist has spoken out against those criticising his new look.

Since re-launching his music career with the likes of ‘What Do You Mean?’ and ‘Sorry’ the Canadian star has taken to wearing combinations of ripped, low-slung jeans, oversized t-shirts and baseball caps.

A recent look that has drawn criticism from music circles was Bieber’s red carpet ensemble at the American Music Awards that saw him sporting a Nirvana t-shirt.

The particular shirt worn by the ‘Purpose’ hit-maker is made by the brand Fear of God and retails for $1,500.

Whilst Kurt Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, gave the 21-year-old pop singer’s look her approval by tweeting, “You’re cool in my book @justinbieber”, fans of the late Nirvana front man were less impressed with the choice of band t-shirt.

Karla Welch – Justin’s stylist – has now defended her client’s choice of t-shirt in an interview with Esquire.

Welch asserted: “Of course he’s a fan of Nirvana. I think it’s so funny that all these people are up in arms.”

She went on: “I’m sure Kurt Cobain would be like – I mean I can’t speak for him, obviously – but I don’t think he was snotty or that he would diss anyone who appreciated his music. I think he understood that that is like the antithesis of music appreciation. It’s so funny.”

Justin Bieber suffered similar music and fashion criticism when we wore a Metallica t-shirt earlier this year.
