Justin Bieber remains this week at No.1 on UK singles chart

Justin Bieber has remained at No.1 on the UK singles chart.

The Canadian's track 'Love Yourself' has now racked up six non-consecutive weeks at the top of the pile.

The Official Charts Company today (January 15) confirmed that Shawn Mendes' 'Stitches' is up two to No.2, while Bieber is No.3 with 'Sorry'.

The 21-year-old is also No.4 with 'What Do You Mean?', while Sigala's 'Sweet Lovin'' rounds off the top five.

However, the big story of this week's UK singles chart is the impact of David Bowie, who passed away on Sunday (January 10) aged 69 from cancer.

A total of 167,000 Bowie singles were purchased this week, while he had 19 million streams.

Five of his singles reached the top 40, with 'Heroes' the highest at No.12.

A total of 13 Bowie songs feature in this week's top 100.

'Life On Mars' is No.16, while 'Starman' follows at No.18. Latest single 'Lazarus' is No.45.
