Justin Bieber and David Bowie lead VEVO streaming chart

Music video streaming site VEVO has released statistics for the top 3 artists streamed in January 2016 as well as the top 3 videos that saw the biggest rise in views throughout the month. 

Canadian sensation Justin Bieber came in at No.1 with over 46 million streams in the UK.

Taylor Swift came in at No.2 with over 18 million streams and the late icon David Bowie is at No.3 with 14.5 million streams. 

Following Bowie's death earlier this month, he has dominated the top 3 ‘movers’ charts, claiming all three of the spots with 'Heroes,' 'China Girl,' and 'Absolute Beginners.' According to VEVO, these videos all saw around a 2000% rise in streams, and 'Heroes' achieved over a million streams in the UK. 

The top three most viewed artists 

  • Justin Bieber - 46,680,249 total VEVO streams
  • Taylor Swift - 18,228,724 total VEVO streams
  • David Bowie - 14,550,220 total VEVO streams

Top three biggest movers of the month 

  • David Bowie - Heroes - 1,062,238 (2240% change) - (45,382 views in Dec)
  • David Bowie - Absolute Beginners - 219,283 (1873% change) - (11,115 views in Dec)
  • David Bowie - China Girl - 416,576 (1871% change) - (21,131 views in Dec)
