Justin Bieber reveals Ed Sheeran's music inspires him

Justin Bieber was a star performer on Radio 1's Live Lounge this week hosted by Nick Grimshaw.

Kicking off the Live Lounge Month, he spoke about songwriter, Ed Sheeran. He said:

"Me and Ed aren't super close but he's someone who I consider a friend and I really appreciate his music. I appreciate who he is as a person.

"He's an inspiration to a lot of young people - he makes awesome music that people are inspired by and that people laugh to, cry to and I think it's important in music to have those people who bring the emotion out of you... There's something about him that just makes you like him. He's very likeable and very, very talented."

"Let's hope he doesn't... we gotta make sure he doesn't do something stupid to mess it all up."

Bieber performed the session from his L.A. home, and sang 2Pac's 'Thugz Mansion', his Major Lazer collaboration 'Cold Water', Tracy Chapman's 'Fast Car' and stripped down versions of three of his own hits including 'What Do You Mean?' and 'Love Yourself'.

Future performances as part of BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge Month include Usher, Biffy Clyro, Chase & Status, Olly Murs, Blossoms, Craig David, Bastille, Christine and the Queens, OneRepublic, Charlie Puth, The 1975, Tom Odell, Michael Kiwanuka and Izzy Bizu.
