Justin Bieber has taken over Ashton Kutcher's prankster role in a revamped version of television show Punk'D, targeting Taylor Swift in the first episode.

Kutcher revealed earlier this year that teaming up with Bieber to relaunch the MTV series was a "possibility".

The show had Kutcher targeting unsuspecting stars and play practical jokes on them.

According to Access Hollywood, the new series kicked off in Los Angeles on Friday (August 26) with Bieber as a new celebrity trickster and filming a prank on friend, Taylor Swift.

No details of the prank have been revealed, but the website reports Kutcher will serve as the series creator, while different stars will take turns to host and play pranks on other celebrities in each episode.
