Justin Bieber's mother has admitted that she is in awe of her son and what he has achieved.

Pattie Mallette enjoyed a strong bond with her 18-year-old son when he was growing up and his rise to fame seems to have made her a proud mother.

Speaking to InTouch Weekly, she revealed that they had a modest upbringing - struggling to pay for restaurant visits, for example. She said:

"We'd go out for dinner but we could only do it if we split something to eat and ordered water."

Mallette, however, added that these days, her megastar son is more than happy to foot the bill. She said:

"Now, when we go out to dinner Justin says, 'Don't worry Mom, I've got the cheque'. Watching him every day, I'm so inspired, I'm in awe."

As previously reported, Justin Bieber recently admitted that he is missing his mum more than ever when he is out touring the world.
