A hamster which Justin Bieber took on tour before giving away to a fan has died.

The adorable pet PAC starred in numerous photos that the 'Believe' star had uploaded online whilst on tour, but the singer surprised his followers by giving away the hamster in a cage to a fan outside a gig in December.

The new owner was Tori McClure, who showered the hamster in adoration before the pet ultimately died recently of old age.

Talking to E!, the lucky fan admitted that getting into the limelight as a result of the gift has been "life-changing". She said:

"I got chills just when [Justin] asked me to have [Pac]. I never would've thought it would happen to me. It's been amazing and getting to talk to the team and getting close to the Bieber was life-changing...[Pac] slept on my nightstand. He was beside me at all times. I mean, I loved him a lot."

Tweeting Justin Bieber directly, she said after the hamster's death:
