Justin Bieber has apologised for including a joke about Lindsay Lohan at the end of an online rant.

As previously reported, the Canadian took to Instagram to post a lengthy message about his relationship with the press and how he thinks they seem to pick at him.

However, the message that is currently online wasn't the original version, with Bieber quickly scrapping the first upload.

The original message ended: "I'm growing up finding myself while having people watch me and criticise me everyday i think im doing pretty damn good. And to those comparing me to Lindsey Lohan look at her 2012 tax statements ;)."

In a statement released to TMZ, the 'Believe' star apologised for the Lohan comment, saying:

"My post was only up for a few minutes but I realised right away that what I said at the end was wrong and distracted from what I was trying to say. I immediately deleted it and rewrote it so it would show what I was really feeling and those words are up now." Watch Justin Bieber perform live below:
