Writing on his official Twitter page this afternoon (June 18), the 'Boyfriend' heartthrob seemed rather melancholic as he told his 40.5 million followers: "Sometimes u [sic] just wanna go to a comedy club and have a laugh. no trouble. just want to laugh."

Bieber is due to get back on the road this coming Saturday, June 22 with a concert in San Diego at the Valley View Casino Center and he also returned to the social networking site not long ago to add: 

"Presale dates this week. #BELIEVEtour - back on tour saturday. last couple days off. I'm all about the music."

The singer's last full album came in the shape of 2012's 'Believe', with Canadian later releasing an acoustic record too.

He recently teased fans with the prospect of new music by mysteriously uploading the artwork for a forthcoming single called 'Heartbreaker'.

Speaking on Twitter last night (June 9), Bieber said that he has written another new track and that his mind is fully on fresh material. The singer said:

"Really focused on this music. #musicjournals #heartbreaker #newsongs."

He later added: "Wrote another great song last night. Focused."

Bieber meanwhile recently released more tour dates for his Believe world jaunt, with new shows in Asia, South America and Australia confirmed.

The Canadian has been travelling for months on his Believe tour as he promotes his latest album of the same name.

He has now confirmed shows in Asia, South America and Australia as he takes his tour to truly global levels.

The new dates kick off in Bangkok on September 26 before heading to cities like Seoul and Sao Paulo.

The batch of shows will conclude at Perth, Australia on December 8.

As previously reported, Justin Bieber has confirmed that he will travel into space once Virgin Galactic launch the world's first ever commercial space travel service.

The 42-year-old singer says the Canadian superstar, 19, will eventually succumb to the darker temptations that are associated with celebrity.

Speaking to America's GQ magazine Kid Rock explained: ''It's just a matter of time before someone puts a huge line of cocaine in front of Bieber and he's going to be like, 'Yes! This is f**king awesome!' ''

Kid Rock also lamented the pitfalls of enjoying success too young, referencing Britney Spears' highly publicised breakdown a few years ago.

He added: ''Poor girl. Turned into a space cadet. That dead stare, just f**king like someone stole her soul... ''

Hollywood actor Channing Tatum recently discussed how he worries for Bieber's wellbeing.

He said: ''I do believe that whatever age you become famous, you end up staying that age. I worry about Bieber, man. That kid's wildly talented. I hope he doesn't fall down into the usual ways of young kids because it' so hard for someone to be responsible when they're not asked to be.

He continued: ''We're not asked to do things ourselves. You have someone there with a coffee. 'You want food? I'll get you food.'"

Virgin supremo Sir Richard Branson - who is creating the world's first commercial space flight company - announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday (June 5).

Bieber will take the out-of-this-world trip at some point in the future alongside manager Scooter Braun. Branson said:

"Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!"

The Canadian singer then replied: "Let's shoot a music video in SPACE!! #nextLEVEL."

The Mirror reports that wannabe astronauts can pay Virgin Galactic a deposit for $250,000 to secure their place on the company's first flights into space.

Their planes, which could start running next year, are set to travel past the boundary into space, where flightgoers will feel weightlessness and be able to view Earth in all its glory.

The singer's last full album came in the shape of 2012's 'Believe', whilst he also released the stripped-back record 'Believe Acoustic' in January.

He recently teased fans with the possibility of new music by suggesting that he will unleash a song called 'Heartbreaker' as his next single.

Speaking on Twitter, Bieber revealed that he will hit the studio in the coming days to cut some new tracks to tape. He said last night (June 5):

"Taking a couple days to relax with the guys before i jump back in the studio. this music is coming. WE DONT STOP WORKING."

The 'Boyfriend' star added that he will be announcing a series of tour dates soon too, revealing:

"Posting the dates for Mexico, S America, Asia, NZ, and AUSTRALIA.......TOMORROW. #BELIEVETour."

The event will take place on Monday September 23 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit as the Singapore Grand Prix brings to an end its weekend of sport.

Rihanna is already confirmed to perform at the event on the Sunday (September 22), whilst The Killers will play a day earlier (September 21).

Other acts due to perform at the Grand Prix venue over the weekend include Sir Tom Jones, Bob Geldof and Laura Mvula.

British magician Dynamo will also take to the stage, whilst there will be a number of local Singapore acts performing too.

The Grand Prix race itself will take place on September 22.

Bieber overtook Lady Gaga for the most followed person on Twitter just earlier this year when he beat the ‘Poker Face’ superstar to 33,320,000 followers.

The ‘Boyfriend’ singer’s fans quickly got the news trending with a #40millionbeliebers hashtag. On fan said: “I'm soo proud 40 million beliebers it gets better and better each day! #40MILLIONBELIEBERS  this family is so strong, I can't believe it!”

The milestone was reached shortly after the singer teased details of his next single ‘Heartbreaker’.

The man himself took to Twitter with little delay announcing: “#40MillionBeliebers - thank u. i love u. #grateful”

The singer posted what looks like artwork to a new track called 'Heartbreaker' on his official Instagram page.

The image sees a purple heart shape crumbling into pieces, with a small Cupid figure floating nearby.

He added on Instagram: "Heartbreaker #Justinbiebernewsingle."

The Canadian appeared to also mention a line from the song, typing: "Don't tell me your my heartbreaker (sic)."

It's unclear whether the track will feature on the singer's next album or if the song will be a standalone single release.

Either way, it came as a surprise to Bieber fans, with one Instagram user commenting: "Wheeeeeeeen? Juuustiiin! Tell us wheeeeeeeen! Ahhhh! I might be crying a bit! #soexcited #happytears#ahhhh."

The international superstar took to Twitter last night (May 30) to reveal he was celebrating his younger sister Jazmyn's birthday with his loved ones.

Bieber, 19, is currently on a month-long break from his gruelling 'Believe' tour, and is seemingly making the most of his time off with family members.

Taking to the social networking site, the singer wrote: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY @JazmynBieber !!! I love you! #HappyBirthdayJazzy (sic)," before later adding: “#familytime #HappyBirthdayJAZZY.”

Bieber also made fun of his little sister as he posted a photo of her lying on the sofa on his Instagram page, with the caption: "the birthday girl is tired (sic)."

Jazmyn and her brother Jaxson are Bieber’s half siblings from his father Jeremy’s marriage and the star has been spotted with them on numerous occasions.

Bieber's parents Patti and Jeremy have both been supportive of his hugely successful career, and the star has previously gushed about his strong family network.

He said: “My parents weren’t the type to talk trash about each other.Some parents, when they split up, the mom will say, ‘Your dad’s a jerk,’ but mine were never like that. So that definitely made it easier for me. I knew they loved me, and they split up because of them, not because of me.”

The star's hit single 'Baby', which has gone 12 times Platinum since its release in 2010, has been named the highest certified song in American music history.

The 'Boyfriend' heartthrob has now beaten Elton John's double-sided 'Candle in the Wind/Something About the Way You Look Tonight,' which went 11 times platinum back in 1997 and previously held the impressive record.

The recent change made by the Recording Industry Association of America, which incorporates on-demand streaming data when it comes to measuring gold and platinum success, helped Bieber in reaching the feat as 100 streams is now considered equivalent to one download.

The US duo will play the song - which features on the latter's album '#willpower' - at Sunday's (May 19) Billboard Music Awards.

The track will be just one of many high-profile collaborations set to take place at the Las Vegas awards ceremony.

Christina Aguilera, Pitbull and a mystery guest will perform 'Feel This Moment', whilst David Guetta, Ne-Yo and Akon will run through 'Play It Hard'.

Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull will perform new single 'Live It Up', whilst Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne will take 'High School' to the stage.

All these collaborations come in addition to a host of solo performances, with twelve acts lined up to play on the night.

Prince, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Selena Gomez are all among the list of guests due to perform at the star-studded event.

As previously reported, an image of the Canadian immortalised on the popular animated series recently emerged online ahead of the episode's air date.

Bieber's cameo in the program was shown last night (May 12) - but it only lasted mere seconds.

The audience was also jokingly warned ahead of the singer's appearance, with a subtitle reading:

"Thirty seconds to Justin Bieber - you may start or stop watching according to your beliefs."

The cameo saw the 19-year-old turned away from a local talent contest, with the 'Believe' star annoyed that he wouldn't be able to win the $25 prize.

The 19-year-old star is currently on his world tour, and performed at the FNB Stadium in the South African city today (May 12).

Bieber took to Twitter after the sell-out show to thank fans for their support.

He posted: "That was a show! 95000 strong! #SoldOutStadium . Thank u Johannesburg! #BELIEVEtour.

He added: "Great way to end this leg of the tour. Excited to chill for a bit but I will announce Australia, Asia , and S America real soon (sic)."

Bieber is yet to announce the international shows, but promised fans earlier this week that he wanted to put on more shows in countries across the globe and wrote on Twitter earlier on May 9: "Confirmed more tour dates around the world. #BELIEVEtour is coming. Get ready (sic)."
