Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson joins The Voice UK as coach

Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson has completed the line-up for the next series of The Voice UK.

The reality show was left in the lurch earlier this year when Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue jumped ship after its second series, leaving just will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones.

Kylie Minogue was added to the line-up recently and today (September 19) it has been revealed that Wilson will join up too. He said in a statement:

"Who doesn't want to spend their Saturday night with Kylie Minogue? I spent last winter yelling at The Voice, and both Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am were total superstars. I'm just lucky the Kaiser Chiefs have rubber stamped my temporary loan!"

Controller of BBC's Entertainment Commissioning Mark Linsey added: “Ricky is one of the UK music scene’s great frontmen. He knows all about performance and will complement the rest of the coaching line-up perfectly."

Despite the news, Wilson said in April last year that he initially turned down a chance to join The Voice's first series because it "just didn't feel right".

As part of The Voice's third series shake-up, JLS star Marvin Humes and Emma Willis will take over from Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby as hosts.
