Kanye West unveils latest A.P.C. menswear collection

Rap star Kanye West has revealed his latest menswear collection in collaboration with French fashion brand A.P.C.

Last night (January 18) saw the ‘Yeezus’ rapper unveiling his new line as part of Paris Fashion Week at the A.P.C. store along Rue Madam.

West showed off six looks from the collection which included Timberland-style footwear, hooded coats, parachute pants and a red and blue blanket draped over a model’s shoulders (see images below).

During the evening Kanye talked guests through each item being modelled and also gave an introductory speech about his inspiration for his fashion deigns.

West stated: “I would go to the [A.P.C.] store in New York down the street from my apartment. I just enjoyed the shopping experience. It made me want to buy things.”

Kanye also revealed that he had hoped to attend London’s Central St. Martins to learn about fashion but was rejected for being “too famous”. He explained:

“I want to go to [Central] St. Martins but Louise [Goldin] said that I was too famous, so I basically had to learn clothes through Style.com, through Scott The Satorialist, through Tommy Ton, and luckily I was rich enough to make mistakes and learn just by being a fashion victim, which I definitely have been a fashion victim, and to flip it from being a fashion victim to maybe a fashion icon to a person who can give an opinion, and that’s what I’m in the process of doing.”

Kanye West’s A.P.C. line is expected to go on sale in summer/early fall.
