Kanye West has been confirmed as one of this year's Glastonbury Festival headliners.

The rapper will top the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday night (June 27).

Organiser Emily Eavis stated on Twitter:

"We are thrilled to let you know we have the one and only Kanye West headlining Saturday night on the Pyramid stage."

A petition, however, has already been created online to "cancel Kanye West’s headline slot and get a rock band".

It currently has 573 supporters.

Foo Fighters meanwhile are due to headline Glastonbury's on the Friday night (June 26).

The only other confirmed performer is Lionel Richie, who will take to the stage during the day on the Sunday (June 28).
