Kanye West caused a stir during a recent live performance in Armenia.

The ‘Yeezus’ rapper is currently visiting Armenia with his wife Kim Kardashian-West and her family – who are of Armenian descent – to coincide with the 100th anniversary of mass killings in the country during the First World War.

During his visit, Kanye staged a free outdoor performance in the capital city of Yerevan.

Speaking to audience members who were separated from the live action by Lake Swan, Kanye said:

“Over there, can y'all see me over there? We're going to do something different right now, like, like, like we always do it this time!”

The music star then proceeded to wade into the water before fans began to follow his actions and security had to step in to help West get back onto land (see video below).

After the event Kim Kardashian tweeted: “Thousands of people were there! Kanye jumped in swan lake to be closer to the crowd on the other side & so many people jumped in too!”

She later added: “Such an exciting crazy night! So happy I got to rock out with everyone in Armenia on our last night here!!!! #EpicNight #ArmenianPride”
