'Heartless' sensation Kanye West will be presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. 

The rapper is set to receive the honour at the ceremony on August 30 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and a new MTV article on the exciting news explains that "his creative depths have never ceased to amaze us, and some could argue that his videos are complete masterpieces in their own right."

This year's MTV VMAs will be hosted by none other than Miley Cyrus and Moschino's creative director Jeremy Scott is working on the superstar's outfit for the night. Speaking about what she's likely to wear, Scott told ELLE.com: "We have not finalised things. Nothing is locked down yet, but [Miley and I] have lots of plans. And I'm sure that – I wouldn't want to spoil any surprises, but it's gonna be outrageous for sure."
