Pharmaceutical mogul offers to buy Kanye West album for $10m

Controversial pharmaceutical entrepenuer Martin Shkreli has offered to buy Kanye West's new album for $10 million (£6.9 million) before it goes public.

The rapper is due to unleash his latest effort 'The Life of Pablo' immenintly after unveiling it on Thursday (February 11) in New York.

Shkreli - who recently bought Wu-Tang Clan's one-off album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for $2 million ($1.4 million) - has now offered to buy the rights to West's record to stop it going public.

He tweeted his offer to West, which took the form of an official letter.

The businessman hopes that his offer will be "more attractive" financially than releasing the album publically.

Writing on Twitter on Friday (February 12), Shkreli worried that he was missing out on West's response due to a limit on messages.

He said: "Why does @Twitter have a DM limit? Kanye could have accepted or countered me and I have no idea. Help!"

A rep for Spotify, however, confirmed to Digital Spy that the record would be on their streaming platform "very soon".

Martin Shkreli became a universal figure of hate last year after upping the price of antiparasitic drug Daraprim by over 5,000%.
