Kanye West says laptop with file-sharing site tabs is not his

Kanye West's representatives have told Pitchfork he does not own the laptop from where he grabbed the Sufjan Stevens screenshot to upload onto Twitter today (March 2).

This photo West uploaded depicts tabs for file-sharing websites including The Pirate Bay.

DeadMau5 picked up on the fact one tab was also for an illegal download of his Siren software and he challenged the rapper on Twitter, starting a funding campaign to raise the funds so that West could afford to buy an official copy.

West's spokespeople also stated that not only was it not his laptop but the tweet was originally meant as a joke referring to the pirating of his new album, 'The Life of Pablo.'

West retaliated to Deadmau5 with a string of tweets in which he refers to his mouse headgrear, he tweeted:

"who's job is it to carry the head on the plane # hash tag # do you check the mickey mouse head of carry on # does it get hot?

"Do you do birthday parties? My daughter loves Minnie mouse."

The rapper's initial tweet also shows a site offering "The 50 best VST/AU plugin synths in the world today."
