Kanye West has topped the US albums chart for a seventh time.

The rapper's latest effort 'The Life Of Pablo' reached No.1 on the Billboard 200 list after finally getting a general release.

The record had only been available on Tidal for a number of weeks.

The album reached No.1 by virtue of its strong streaming figures, with only 28,000 of its 94,000 sales coming through non-streaming sources.

'The Life of Pablo' is the first album to reach No.1 on the chart with a majority of streaming equivalent album sales.

West now has seven consecutive No.1 albums in his native US.

His first came via 2005's 'Late Registration'.
