Kasabian announce new album '48:13'

Kasabian have announced plans to release a new album later this year.

The UK rock group will unleash their fifth record '48:13' on June 9.

The title is named after the album's running time and the band said that it reflects their stripped back approach.

Sergio Pizzorno said: "I felt that we had the confidence to be more direct, more honest with this album. I started to strip away layers rather than to just keep adding."

Tom Meighan added: "Less is more, you know? It's direct. It is what it is. Just listen to it. We've had the confidence to lay ourselves bare. Serge has stripped it right back. It's unbelievable."

The single 'Eez-eh' will be released on June 2 and it will get its first radio play tonight (April 28) on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show.

The full tracklisting meanwhile for '48:13' is as follows:

  • '(Shiva)'
  • 'Bumblebee'
  • 'Stevie'
  • '(Mortis)'
  • 'Doomsday'
  • 'Treat'
  • 'Glass'
  • 'Explodes'
  • '(Levitation)'
  • 'Clouds'
  • 'Eez-eh'
