Kasabian to perform at BAFTAs

Kasabian have been confirmed to perform live at this year's BAFTA Awards.

The rock band will open the film awards ceremony at the The Royal Opera House in London on February 8.

The group commented in a statement: "As massive fans of British cinema it is a great honour to open the BAFTAs and celebrate the achievements in film over the last 12 months."

Guitarist Sergie Pizzorno added in an interview with The Sun that they will ramp up the volume before "destroying" the after party.

He said: "It's way more exciting playing the BAFTAs than the Brits. Awards should be chaotic and exciting. We're going to start the night off with a huge explosion.

"We're going to play everything twice as loud. Half the people there won't have a clue what is going on. We plan on going to the BAFTA after-party and we're going to totally destroy it."
