Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno is searching for “the future sound of rock”

Kasabian guitar man and songwriter Serge Pizzorno has said that he is “looking for the future sound of rock” as he works on the band’s new album.

Earlier this month the ‘Fire’ rocker told NME of the aggressive sounds he is experimenting with for Kasabian’s follow up to their 2011 album 'Velociraptor!'

He has gone on to reveal more details about his future recordings in an interview with MTV.

Serge stated: “I want to put rock 'n' roll to the sword - I'm looking for the future sound of rock. I love guitars but I wanna destroy guitars as well."

However he did reassure fans that the band’s new material would not be too far removed from their popular rock sound: “Don't worry,” he said, “I'm not talking about going on the dubstep wagon.”

Pizzorno gave further insight into Kasabian’s new sound by name-checking a number of other bands he is drawing inspiration from: “I just want to harness the power of when you go to see The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers or Rage Against The Machine and you leave reborn. When the album turns on you won't ever want to stop it - that's what I want.”

Kasabian are the headlining act at Hard Rock Calling on June 29.
