The pop songstress has opened herself up on her forthcoming film 'Part of Me', which is set to look closely at the singer's personal life.

Speaking to heat magazine, however, Perry said that she will always tell the truth and that she has a "little bit more spice" to her than a "girl next door". She said:

"I think people know that I'm a little bit more than just the girl next door. I have a little bit more spice to me and that is how I will continue to be, because I have to hold onto that artistic integrity because that's what got me here. I'll only ever speak the truth, and sometimes that's hard to swallow."

As previously reported, Perry recently said that she has a "lot to say" on her next album after the recent trials and tribulations of her personal life.

The pop songstress has endured some tough times in her personal life recently, with a divorce from former husband Russell Brand a big blow.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Perry said that whilst she will still be the "candy queen" she is known to be, there will be more "meat and potatoes" on her future material. She said:

"I feel I have a lot to say on the next record. I have a lot to flush out of the system. I'm not saying that I'm not going to be the candy queen any more, but I think it's time for more meat and potatoes."

She continued: "With 'Teenage Dream', I created this cotton candy cloud with a kind of a wink and a kiss, and it was all cute and fun and playful. Now it's as if I have had to step off this cloud and face reality."

In her new concert movie, 'Part Of Me 3D', the singer explained that she was about to get on stage to perform for a large audience when she heard that the British funnyman had handed in divorce papers and started to convulse from the shock:

"I was convulsing a little bit ... I still have to find the balance, I had to separate my personal from my professional. As an entertainer, I knew what my job was and I shouldn't take it out on my audience, they've always been there for me."

Earlier today (July 2), Perry tweeted a message to let her 22.4 million followers know that she had landed in London to promote the film in the UK:

"LONDON! ARE YOU READY TO #KP3D?! I'M HEEEEEERE! (and I need a shower after 30 hours of traveling)"

The singer is set to release her first ever film 'Part of Me' in early July and she told Australia's Kyle and Jackie O radio show that it is strange looking back on footage of herself as a late teenager.

She said that the clips see an 18-year-old Perry reflect on her life goals - goals which she has now achieved at 27. She said:

"You see so much footage of me as a young kid, as 18, telling the camera, 'This is what I want to do, this is where I want to go, this is what I want to achieve in life'. It's very surreal to be looking back at that and going...'Oh, well I've done it'."

Perry meanwhile also spoke of her divorce from former husband Russell Brand, saying that in the aftermath she needed to separate her personal life from her professional life. She said:

"I still have to find the balance, I had to separate my personal from my professional. As an entertainer, I knew what my job was and I shouldn't like take it out on my audience - they've always been there for me."

The 27-year-old, who sat on The X-Factor judging panel during the Irish heartthrob’s first audition, told The Irish Sun that she enjoys being in the company of all the boyband, but that it’s Niall who remains her favourite member:

“Niall is just such a sweetheart. I’m a big fan of One Direction.

“They’ve been so sweet to me every time I meet them, they’re like the biggest thing in the world right now.

“I’m thrilled for the success they’re enjoying and love hanging out with them — Niall is just lovely.”

The ‘California Gurls’ singer, whose new movie 'Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D' was recently watched by the band, also claimed she wants to spend more time in Niall’s homeland:

“I must have played Dublin five times by now and I get such a welcome there every time. I have always had the most amazing time in Ireland, I need to spend more time there, that’s my plan.”

Speaking to Britain's The Mirror newspaper, the beauty explained that she's moving on and still finds "London boys" charming:

"I'm moving forward one step at a time. It was a year I'll never be able to recreate. It had amazing highs and some big lows, but that's life. I've learnt I'm in a very modern fairytale but I also know I don't need the Prince Charming to have a happy ending."

Perry, who is said to be dating Florence & the Machine's Robert Ackroyd, added: "I still believe in love, most definitely. [And] I still like London boys. Except one."

In the same interview, she opened up about her dreams of one day starting a family and revealed that while she loves children she still feels too young and inexperienced to have any just yet:

"I want to be a mother but now's not the right time. A baby can't have a baby, and I'm still a baby."

Speaking to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, the 'Wide Awake' songstress explained that she still feels like "a baby" and has many things she wants to accomplish before thinking about having babies and settling:

"I want to be a mother but now's not the right time. A baby can't have a baby, and I'm still a baby."

She also revealed that she isn't scared to fall in love again following her failed marriage to British funnyman Russell Brand:

"I'm excited for the future, whatever it brings. I still believe in love, most definitely."

She also recently did a photoshoot for Italian Vogue, in which she wore a cropped platinum blonde bob and dramatic eye make up (pictured above left and below).

The pop songstress saw her world turn upside down late last year when then husband Russell Brand filed for divorce.

Speaking to L'Uomo Vogue, Perry said that it is "inevitable" that her next album will be "darker" than her previous releases due to her personal life. She said:

"It will be a much darker album than the previous one. It was inevitable, after what I went through."

Perry hinted that she would like to go back in a "time machine" if she could to rectify some of the ills of her marriage, but she said as a result fans will "discover another part of her" in the next album. She said:

"If I had a time machine and could go back in time, I would. But I can't, so you'll discover another part of me."

Perry meanwhile donned some unusual looks for the magazine's accompanying photoshoot, wearing a pink wig and blonde hair.

The pop songstress is releasing the 3D flick soon, which will mark the end of her long stint promoting her album 'Teenage Dream'.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Perry said that she would love to retreat to a "beautiful unplugged place" - a cave perhaps - to get away from it all after 'Part of Me' is released. She said:

"I think I'm going to go into a cave after this. It might be appropriate. I would like to be in a beautiful unplugged place where there's not a lot going on so I can get back into and hopefully write some good songs."

She added: "Just take these damn extensions out of my hair and fill my head again! Although I will look like a complete freak."

Speaking to MTV News, the 'Teenage Dream' hitmaker explained that she wants her followers around the world to take a life lesson from the film because it shows her own personal low points, which she expects might give them courage to be bold:

"I wouldn't say it's so therapeutic, because the movie is so well-rounded with so many different things. I guess some of it is just hopefully an inspiration for people."

"When they see it, they are like, 'Oh, yeah, she goes through some s*** too. I can't dodge life's curve balls if Katy Perry can't dodge life's curve balls.'"

The official premiere of 'Part Of Me 3D' took place last night (June 27) in Los Angeles and it was attended by the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen and Justin Bieber.

MTV has reported that the 'Teenage Dream' sensation broke down in one of the scenes of her new concert movie, 'Part Of Me', while talking about her relationship with British funnyman Russell Brand and explained that she put her all into the commitment:

"I have that same belief system with everything, from career to my life to my personal life, everything. And I will do everything it takes to not fail. And I did everything it took, but it still failed."

"I thought to myself, 'When I find that person that's going to be my life partner, I won't ever have to choose [between the partner and my career]. They won't be threatened or have weird motives.' Then I started to realise, that's not true."

The movie's official premiere will be held tonight (June 26) in Los Angeles and it will hit cinemas in the UK from July 5.

The singer picked up five VEVO Certified awards for the impressive feat, thanking fans in the process.

The video streaming website has uploaded a number of Katy Perry VEVO Certified clips online, including one of fans presenting her with the awards.

Speaking about the video milestones, Perry said:

"I just want to thank all of my fans and friends online. Thanks for your attention, love and support. Making a music video is not just another way to push your song; it's actually another way for me to give it another layer. I have so many different thoughts and ideas and moods and I love displaying all of them in my videos."

The videos which have gained over 100m views are 'Firework', 'E.T.', 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)', 'The One That Got Away' and 'Teenage Dream'.

Perry's divorce from former husband Russell Brand was initiated late last year and saw the split of the celebrity couple.

Speaking to Extra's Mario Lopez, Perry said that she feels her failed marriage isn't a regret - more like a lesson learned in life. She said:

"Everybody asks me if I regret something, they ask me if it's going to be that one moment [her marriage]. Actually it's really a lesson learned and it's super valuable, I could not buy this lesson. And I apply it to my life, I learn and a lot of the time, I get really good material for my songs."

As previously reported, Perry recently released the video for her new single 'Wide Awake', with the singer donning a Gothic fairy tale look.

Although the special events are only open to people in the USA, her film will be showing in 100 cinemas across America on July 2, which is 3 days before its nationwide release on July 5, and fans can apply for tickets by using the hashtag "#KP3D Movie Sneak" on the social networking site.

The exciting promotion is a partnership between Insurge Pictures and Twitter, on which Perry has 21 million followers, and Insurge Pictures' president Amy Powell said:

In a new interview with Jay Leno, the 'Teenage Dream' sensation explained that although some of the things she's gone through over the past year have been incredibly painful she wanted to be true to her life's story so decided to include everything in the motion picture:

"I think that if you were to see the movie and it was completely avoided you would come out of the theatre thinking, 'Hmmm, that's strange, I know something else did happen at that time in her life last year'. So I wanted to handle it very delicately, with the most integrity I could possibly have, and show people that I'm going through some of the same situations that most of America, or half of America, goes through."

She also added that incorporating "unflattering scenes" was important to her because she wanted to make herself as relatable as possible to both her fans and to the general public:

"Somehow I landed on my feet, and you don't have to lay down and die even if you feel like you're going to. It wasn't always exciting to watch those unflattering scenes where I'm crying and having an intense moment, but I think that people will relate to the movie even more, seeing me at my lowest point and now at my highest point."
