Katy Perry says there is no "competition" between herself and Lady Gaga

Katy Perry has reaffirmed her belief that there is no competition between Lady Gaga and herself.

The two female stars unleashed albums around the same time last year, with Perry releasing 'Prism' and Gaga debuting 'ARTPOP'.

This automatically generated talk of "competition" between the duo, but Perry told SAFM that she supports Gaga entirely.

The 'Roar' lady said: "She is a fantastic performer and she takes a lot of artistic chances. It’s always interesting to watch her, and sometimes [it] keeps me on my toes as a performer. It’s nice to have that. But we both agree that we don’t like to have that competitive nature and we don’t encourage it from our fans…”

When the radio host suggsted that she "won" the recent "battle", Perry replied: "It’s not a competition. I like her artistic choices, they’re always very interesting to watch. I actually really like that song ‘Venus’ that she put out. It’s very Queen/ABBA.”
