Katy Perry came head to head against one of her biggest fans in a quiz on US TV show.

The singer was appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel show when she took part in a quiz face-off against a superfan.

They both answered questions about Katy Perry, but it was the fan that eventually won as a result of her quick buzzer pressing.

Questions included in the quiz included the age Perry first got a guitar and the names of her parents.

The singer also confirmed in the segment that she is no longer going out with John Mayer.

When the fan was talking about her own boyfriend, Perry quipped: "At least you have a boyfriend."
