Katy Perry on wanting a family: 'I don't need a dude, it's 2014!'

Pop superstar Katy Perry has confessed that she isn't looking to find a man to have a baby with because she knows that if she wants to start a family in the future, she can do that as a single woman.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone magazine, the beauty explained that in 2014 you don't need a man in order to have a baby, or a partner at all, so there are options for her if she doesn't fall in love again:

"I don't need a dude. It's 2014! We are living in the future; we don't need anything."

"I don't think I'll have to, but we'll see. I'm not anti-men. I love men. But there is an option if someone doesn't present himself.''

Her older sister, Angela, had a baby earlier this year and the 'Dark Horse' sensation admitted that she has seen first hand how much work it takes to raise a child so won't think about it until she's completely ready:

"I see that my sister is completely devoted to [her] kid, 24 hours a day. And so far, the little girl is so alert, so aware, so conscious, so beautiful, so happy, and I want to be doing that in the right time, and that's not in the next two years, you know? Maybe it's in a five-year plan, but I need to really be able to focus 100 percent of my attention on it. I don't really want to take the child on tour. Not until, like, birth through five is over..."
