Katy Perry on being a modern woman: 'It's important to evolve'

Pop superstar Katy Perry has opened up about what she thinks it means to be a 'modern woman'.

Speaking to Australia's Daily Telegraph recently, the beauty was asked if she believes it's possible to enjoy love and success simultaneously and admitted that she hopes it's achievable:

“I think it can be for a modern woman. I always thought you could have a relationship and success."

The hitmaker continued: "I have to evolve, I have to continue to push people's perceptions of me. As an artist I like to do that, keep people on the edge of their seats."

The 'Teenage Dream' sensation went onto add that it's important to strive for equality because if you enter into a relationship as a 'whole' rather than a 'half' looking for completion in the form of another person, you're fighting a losing battle: "For a modern woman it's important to be supported and that there is equality in every aspect. And it's not two halves that make a whole. It's two wholes that make a whole."
