Katy Perry launches fragrance and hits out at Taylor Swift on Twitter

Pop megastar Katy Perry launched her brand new fragrance Mad Potion last night and it can be purchased by fans in the USA via the Katy Perry Pop Up Twitter page for $30.

Several ingredients that make up the scent were revealed by Katy Perry fan accounts and they include Tahitian vanilla orchid, sweet white peony, fresh and crisp apple, musk, Madagascar bourbon vanilla, luminous jasmine petals, soft and whipped fluffy musk, Mexican vanilla bean absolute and glowing amber.

It was a busy night for the 'Teenage Dream' beauty, who decided to wade into Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift's Twitter argument regarding the MTV Video Music Awards nominations.

Minaj publicly complained about not getting an MTV Video of the Year nomination and told her Twitter followers that "black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it". Minaj also shared the following statement, which caused Taylor Swift to get involved: "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year."

Swift then took to her own social media page and wrote to Minaj, telling her: "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot... If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on."

After seeing the somewhat heated exchange, Perry made a reference to Swift's 'Bad Blood' single, which is reportedly about her, and wrote: "Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalises on the take down of a woman... The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1... @MTV."
