Katy Perry on her music: 'I always need to be authentic and vulnerable'

'Roar' sensation Katy Perry has revealed that all she cares about where her music is concerned is that she remains true to herself and to her creative vision.

During a new interview with the New York Times, the beauty was asked if she's annoyed at never winning a GRAMMY despite the fact that she has been nominated a total of 13 times and she explained that it doesn't bother her too much because she is more focused on creating authentic material:

"The only thing that is on my mind when creating music is being authentic and vulnerable and making sure that it connects. And I know that it does connect because numbers don’t lie. I know that might sound a little sassy, but all I want to do is stay true to myself and dig deep to pull out some of the messages or perspectives that I have on the world."
