Katy Perry recorded 'The Smurfs' role in pyjamas

Katy Perry has opened up about her role in forthcoming movie 'The Smurfs', revealing that it was refreshing to be able to turn up to work in casual clothes for once.

She spoke to the Associated Press during her recent trip to Mexico about voicing the character of Smurfette, and said:

"The Smurfs movie was really fun for me cause a lot of times, you know, 360 days out of the year I feel like a cartoon. So I thought playing a cartoon was a natural thing to do,"

"With 'The Smurfs' I get to walk into the studio and I can be in my pajamas and I make a really cute little voice, which is kind of a mixture of my voice and a little voice,"

Perry, 26, is known for her extravagant latex stage wear so the opportunity to appear behind the scenes but to still be credited as one of the lead roles came as a welcome break. 'The Smurfs' is expected to be released in later in the summer but you can check out an early trailer here:
