Katy Perry no longer Googles herself

Pop songstress Katy Perry admits she no longer Googles herself after reading some less than flattering stories online last year and one in particular that reported Russell Brand was planning his proposal.

The 'Teenage Dream' sensation is often in the world's media, but she revealed to The Sunday Times Magazine that searching for yourself online both encourages and breeds toxic behaviour:

"I'm four months Google-free. I don't Google myself any more. That was my New Year's resolution. I don't read papers. I don't even look at reviews. I have a good team around me so if anything pops up that's really good or bad I'll know about it. Generally I feel much better being able to live my life like a normal person and not read yesterday's news."

An avid fan of social media, 26-year-old Perry today (May 2) tweeted to her fans about the killing of Osama Bin Laden and wrote:

"I am relieved in some ways, but have a feeling of uncertainty now. I believe in justice... but don't u think that an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind? ☹ #revolutioncomesthroughlove #worldpeace"
