Katy Perry cancels shows after getting food poisoning
Katy Perry has been forced to cancel a string of tour dates after contracting food poisoning.
The 'California Gurls' superstar was due to perform in Chicago this evening, July 8, and in Minnesota on Saturday, July 9 but has pushed the shows back until later next month as she suffered "an attack of food poisoning leading to severe dehydration."
A statement on her official website reads:
"I apologize to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!"
The postponed gigs will now take place on August 21 and 23 respectively and the singer tweeted another apologetic message this evening (July 8) that said:
"Chicago and St. Paul - I'm so sorry to have to postpone today and tomorrow's shows. But I'll be back 8/21 (CHI) and 8/23 (St. Paul)!"
