Pop sensation Katy Perry will return to the stage later this month for a special charity event at which she will perform.

The 'Night Of Too Many Stars' event has been organised by Jon Stewart biannually since 2006 and this year's theme 'America Comes Together for Autism Programmes'. Perry will dedicate a live rendition of her smash-hit single 'Firework' to one lucky audience member, it has been confirmed.

Other celebrities who will be involved include Anderson Cooper, Jimmy Kimmel and Amy Poehler.

The show will be taped at the Beacon Theatre on October 13 and it will air on Comedy Central on Sunday, October 21 at 8/7c. Financially, the event is incredibly successful and the 2010 gala raised a staggering $3.2 million (£1.98m) for autism research and support.
