Katy Perry says Oscar win would be a "dream's dream"

Pop songstress Katy Perry has confessed that her ultimate career ambition is to win an Oscar.

The 'Teenage Dream' beauty may actually be in with a chance at landing one of the coveted awards this year as her track 'Part Of Me', which was written for her first concert movie 'Part of Me 3D', is poised to be shortlisted in the Original Song category at the 2013 Oscars.

Speaking about the potential nomination to USA Today, Perry explained that it would be a dream come true to be named the winner:

"It's like a dream's dream. When I was growing up and working on music, it was always a dream to win a Grammy, but Oscar was so far out of my dream sphere."

"This would be a nomination of a completely different calibre. One that is more impressive than many other ones I've had. It's interesting to step out of your playing field and to be recognized from a different angle. It would be an honor."

She also took to her official Twitter page yesterday (January 1) to wish her followers a great new year and added that she's excited for what the next twelve months holds: "Happy New Years everyone! So excited for 13... Be safe but party hard!"
