Pop beauty Katy Perry has welcomed in the new year with a great reason to celebrate.

She has been named 2013's Hottest Woman by America's Men's Health magazine in a poll of 100 stars. The magazine explained its decision for placing her at the top and explained that not only did her stunning physique add to her appeal, but her attitude following a very public divorce sealed the deal:

"She took a bad breakup and turned it into the raw material of the year's most successful album, Teenage Dream... Hell, her Twitter following alone is four times the population of New York City... Nobody, including us, could get enough of Perry this year. And for that reason, she is our sexiest woman of 2013."

The 'Wide Awake' songstress is currently dating singer-songwriter and guitarist John Mayer, and shared a photograph of him wearing a Santa suit over the festive period.

Following closely behind Perry in the sexiest woman stakes was 'Black Swan' actress Mila Kunis and 'Mad Men' bombshell Christina Hendricks came in at No.3.
