Katy Perry has admitted that she spends every day trying to become a better person.

The singer told Closer magazine that she isn't making any New Year's resolutions this year because she doesn't like to put deadlines on new objectives.

However, she said that she sees life as a continual effort to try to make her personality the best that it can be.

The sultry singer said:

"I haven't made any resolutions. In fact, my only resolution is not to make any resolutions. I don't like to set a time frame of new beginnings. I just take my life one day at a time and continually try to evolve and become a better version of myself."

2012 meanwhile saw Perry divorce from then husband Russell Brand - although her music career blossomed, with the release of 3D movie 'Part Of Me' a particular highlight.
